- Gotta love a job where you get to play dress up (and wear the same outfit for the second time in a month ) with your sister 👌🏼 #nonewclothes #graddinnerdanceWishing a very happy birthday to the best friend a girl could ask for. We’ve been through a lot these last 15 years (more, if you count those early days playing against each other in Surdel!). From sleepovers and skater boy crushes, Disneyland trips, shoe money, sneaking into 14A movies, MSN relationships, Whitecaps Saturdays, camping, getting dragged out into the middle of the lake in a tube because we were driving my parents nuts, first loves, heartaches, Bachelor nights, a few decisions I am sure we would both rather not be repeated on the Internet, achieving our career goals together, and so much more, we’ve been through it all together and I have been so lucky to have somebody so loyal, funny, and down to Earth to experience growing up with. We may bicker like siblings sometimes (especially when you take Lauren’s side!) and we may not have always played on the same team, but I think we have always, and will always, be on each other‘s side. I hope that you have the most wonderful birthday and I cannot wait to celebrate with you soon! I love you! (And hopefully the love in this post will be enough to overcome the annoyance I know you’re going to feel at a few of these photos 😉)It’s been 18 years since we moved into this house. I remember running through the hallways, so excited about my big room and the pool in the backyard. It’s been 18 years of so many memories - the time our u11 soccer team’s pool shenanigans were so loud, the police came to gave us a stern chat. The time I made macaroni and cheese without draining the water. Sliding down the stairs on camping mattresses at all those cineplex parties I threw while my parents were away. Sleepovers in my Tommy Hilfiger bedroom. Blaze and Caffrey, and Bogger, and all the hamsters and pet fish. Grad wine and cheese, mine and Lauren’s. Every Christmas, every birthday. Every night we all sat on the couch together, ate pizza and watched the game. The first morning I worked a 4am shift at Starbucks, and I tripped walking down the stairs in the dark and scraped my knee. Das skull mugs, and all that came with it. The Loonie party (I still can’t believe I did that!). The time dad ran up the stairs, tears in his eyes, to tell us the good news about mom. Every time we attempted to organize the laundry room and the clothes stayed in the hallway for days. Swimming in the pool until sunrise, just floating and looking at the stars. The time in PDP when we watched the entire Harry Potter series instead of unit planning. Getting ready for the boys and girls club dances. Pregaming the Lion. Filming the epic There All Along in grade 12. Beer pong tournaments in the carport. Learning to play guitar, and then jamming with Lauren, or singing karaoke until mom or dad stomped on the floor to to tell us to come upstairs and go to bed. Oscars nights. Traveling around Europe and North America, but always knowing that this was home. It’s been 18 years of beautiful memories. I’m not sure if driving through Langley will ever feel as comfortable or familiar as the streets of Delta, but I’m excited for the new adventure. But man... I’m always going to love this home. Here’s to the next stage 🏡❤️A before, during, and after series of my favourite little pink corner in my new place. So fun to see how much it has changed! The previous tenants used it as a cat corner, so this is much different :)Over the last four years or so, we’ve had more cheese, wine, sides, cheese, carbs, laughs, and writerly chats (did I mention cheese?) than I’ll ever be able to remember - but nights like tonight are ones I’ll never forget 💕 such a fun time for my first time hosting the big event! Couldn’t decide on just one photo 😂. #cheese #🧀 #wineandcheese #writersLove when “live photo” catches adorable moments like this. Look how happy everyone looks, it’s so pure!!We danced in synchronized lines to the Macarena, cha cha slide, and boot-scootin boogy, and it made me feel like we were in a 90s romcom 💕 #dangeloweddingHappy wedding day to these lovebugs!! 💕I just want to take a sappy second to shout out my lovely little sister <3 growing up, Lauren always loved singing, but she was so shy and afraid to do it in front of anyone other than our family. I took this picture last night at karaoke, where she was so wonderful, with a confidence I’ve seen building up in the last few years and I couldn’t be more proud of her. I’m so lucky to get to work with Lauren and get to know her on a different level, and see her grow into such an amazing little human 😍look how happy she is!
